Tay Ninh is famous for its majestic natural scenery. Ba Den Mountain, at 986m high, is home to many well-known legends. Here there is a museum built inside Kim Quang Cave and a very famous pagoda of the same name.

Tay Ninh is the holy land of Cao Dai religion with the magnificent, splendid Tay Ninh Holy See. Tay Ninh Holy See was built in 1936, located within a 1.2km2 campus 5km from the town centre.

From the late 9th century to the 13th century the Khmer Kingdom flourished and built a number of great structures such as Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Ta Ruh’m, Ba Kheng, Ta Keo, etc…

From the 13th century to the early 19th century civil wars and foreign conquests weakened the Khmer Kingdom…

Tour itinerary

Day 01: TSN AIRPORT – HO CHI MINH CITY – TAY NINH (breakfast, lunch, dinner)

07h00: The vehicle and guide of the travel company pick up guests at the meeting point and depart for Tay Ninh. On the way, guests will interact with the tour guide and learn about the places the group passes through.

09h30: The group enjoys breakfast with Tay Ninh specialty dishes: Trang Bang banh canh + coffee + soft drink. Rest and continue the programme.

On the bus, guests will learn about Tay Ninh’s specialties along with the legend of Ba Mountain, with the unique architecture of the Cao Dai Holy See, the famous place where the Cao Dai religion developed to this day…

12h15: The group has lunch at a local restaurant

13h30: The group visits Tay Ninh Holy See, considered the cathedral of Cao Dai religion. Guests learn about the architecture of the Holy See and the origin of Cao Dai religion.

14h45: The group arrives at Ba Mountain; guests take the cable car (own expense: 80,000 VND/trip) to visit and offer incense. Visit Ha Pagoda, Trung Pagoda, Thuong Pagoda, and the Ba Temple

04h00: The group returns to the hotel. Rest and relax, free time to explore Tay Ninh at night

Day 2: MOC BAI (TAY NINH) – SIEM REAP (Breakfast, lunch, dinner).

At the appointed time: The vehicle and guide of the travel company pick up guests at the hotel and depart for Siem Reap. The group enters Cambodia along National Highway 1A through Svay Rieng province.

On the way, guests will interact with the tour guide and learn about the places the group passes through in the land of pagodas and towers.

09h00: Continue the journey; at 11h30 the group arrives in Kampong Cham province and has lunch at a local restaurant.

13h00: Continue to Siem Reap. Guests stop to visit and take photos of the bridge built a thousand years ago and recognised by Unesco.

Enjoy the delicious palm sugar sponge cake typical of the Khmer people (own expense).

17h00: The group arrives in Siem Reap, checks in and rests. Then have dinner at a restaurant in Siem Reap. Free time to explore Siem Reap at night

Day 03: DISCOVER SIEM REAP – ANGKOR (Breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Morning: Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the south gate of ANGKOR THOM, the largest palace. The giant 4-faced BAYON statue, the faces of “joy – anger – love – hate”, the artistic bas-reliefs.

Ta Prohm temple, where centuries-old trees with unique roots grow, was once used by Hollywood as the setting for the film TOMB RAIDER “THE SECRET OF THE ANCIENT TOMB”.

Guests will continue to visit ANGKOR WAT temple, built more than 1000 years ago and recognised by UNESCO as the 7th Wonder of the world. The group has lunch and relaxes here.

Afternoon: Guests conquer the peak of Angkor Wat and here freely watch the sunset on the mountain top and capture the beautiful sunset moment at the majestic Angkor peak.

Have dinner with many dishes carrying Cambodian flavours, and guests also experience rich local cuisine with traditional Cambodian – Vietnamese dishes made from natural, nutritious ingredients.

After dinner, the vehicle & guide take the group back to the hotel; guests are free to explore the city of wonders at night or freely join entertainment services here…

Day 04: SIEM REAP – PHNOM PENH – ROYAL PALACE (Breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Morning: Breakfast at the hotel. The vehicle picks up guests and departs for Phnom Penh, lunch at a local restaurant, hotel check-in.

Afternoon: Visit Wat Phnom, the ancient pagoda, and hear the legend of the founding of the capital Phnom Penh and its development to this day. Visit the INDEPENDENCE MONUMENT – THE MONUMENT TO VIETNAMESE VOLUNTEER SOLDIERS.

On the way back to the hotel, guests admire the beauty of the capital Phnom Penh along the poetic Mekong River, or guests can try their luck at CASINO NAGAR (own expense)

Day 05: PHNOM PENH – TINH BIEN – CHAU DOC (Breakfast, lunch, dinner).

07h00: Buffet breakfast at the hotel, check-out procedures. Then visit the New Market to buy Cambodian specialties.

11h00 the vehicle takes the group to lunch, then the group leaves the capital Phnom Penh back to Tinh Bien (Chau Doc) – An Giang, Vietnam,

The group arrives in Chau Doc, checks in, showers and rests, then the vehicle takes the group to dinner

Evening: Guests have a meal and are free to explore and stay overnight in Chau Doc city, free time at night.

Day 06: TRA SU CAJUPUT FOREST – CAN THO (Breakfast, lunch, dinner).

07h30: The vehicle picks up the group at the hotel. Guests depart to visit Ba Chua Xu Temple, a major pilgrimage centre in the Mekong Delta known for the Ba Chua Xu Nui Sam festival on 24/04 of the lunar calendar, recognised as a national festival in 2001. Guests can pray for peace for their family and loved ones.

Thoai Ngoc Hau Tomb, Son Lang, one of the founding mandarins of the Nguyen dynasty, a general credited with expanding the territory to the southwest of the country.

Leaving Chau Doc, guests continue to Tra Su Cajupit Forest; guests will encounter rice fields where “storks fly wing to wing” following An Giang’s large-field model, and palm sugar fields bearing the strong characteristics of the Khmer people of the South.

Arriving at the edge of Tra Su forest, guests travel by “tac rang” (small motorboat) through Tra Su Cajupit forest, which vividly recreates the wetland forest system of the Mekong Delta in the past. The group will weave among lotus ponds with fragrant scents, rows of dark green duckweed; guests also experience sitting in a “three-leaf boat” to visit the area where storks and herons nest and lay eggs, which is very interesting.

Arriving at the watchtower, the group can admire the panorama of the vast cajupit forest, with flocks of birds and storks freely flying.

The group has lunch with rustic dishes such as grilled snakehead fish, fried field mouse with fish sauce, honey-grilled chicken, snakehead fish sour soup, fish paste hotpot… Guests rest freely.

13h00: The group departs for Tinh Bien Market, free time for shopping and visiting the border area.

14h00: Depart for Can Tho

18h00: The vehicle takes the group to Can Tho city; guests go to dinner on a boat, listen to amateur folk music and enjoy cultural performances on a sparkling beautiful cruise at Ninh Kieu Wharf.

At the end of the evening, the vehicle takes the group to check in at the hotel to rest in Can Tho city, free time to explore the western capital at night…

Day 07: CAN THO – CAI RANG FLOATING MARKET – MY THO – BEN TRE (Breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Morning: 6h30 Guests have breakfast at the hotel, then the vehicle takes guests to visit Cai Rang floating market, the largest floating market in the Mekong Delta. Here guests can see the bustling trading scene on the water, a little characteristic of the delta market.

The boat continues to take guests to visit a fruit orchard and enjoy specialties, grilled field mouse, grilled frog…(own expense), a workshop producing rice paper, vermicelli, noodle soup…

Guests then return to the boat back to the mainland and have lunch in Can Tho

11h00 The vehicle and guide take the group to lunch, then the group departs for Tien Giang. The vehicle takes guests into My Tho city to visit Vinh Trang Pagoda, then the vehicle takes the group back to the hotel to check in and rest.

In the evening the vehicle takes the group to dinner and free time to have fun in My Tho city at night.

Day 08: MY THO – BEN TRE – HO CHI MINH CITY (Breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Morning: 7h30 the vehicle takes guests to 30/4 pier to board a boat cruising on the Tien River to admire Rach Mieu Bridge and the 4 islets Long – Lan – Qui – Phung.

The group arrives at Thoi Son Islet to visit a garden house (also called Lan Islet), enjoy fruit while listening to amateur folk music and drinking honey tea. The group moves to Chau Thanh District to visit a coconut candy workshop and learn how the famous Ben Tre coconut candy is made, row a three-leaf boat to visit canals and admire the lush green water coconut trees.

Noon: 12h00 Guests have lunch at a restaurant, free time to rest and relax.

After lunch, guests can take a horse-drawn cart along the village road, blending into the life of the local people and enjoying the beauty of the coconut land.

13h45 Return to the large boat, cruising down the Tien River.

Then disembark and return to My Tho pier; the vehicle continues to take the group back to Ho Chi Minh City.

17h30: Arrive at the original pick-up point, ending the 8-day tour of Cambodia – Vietnam’s Mekong Delta. The guide says thank you and goodbye and looks forward to seeing guests again!

TOUR REGISTRATION CONDITIONS:

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months + 1 week, counting to the tour end date.
  • Guests with foreign nationality must have a Vietnam entry visa valid up to the departure date.
  • Please provide complete and accurate personal information such as Full Name as on ID card or passport, phone number, contact address…

TOUR CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • Cancellation 5 days before the departure date: deposit is non-refundable.
  • Cancellation 3 days before the departure date: penalty of 50% of the total tour price.
  • Cancellation within 24h before departure time: penalty of 100% of the total tour price.

Note: the days mentioned above are counted as working days only

NOTES:

  • Guests with Vietnamese, Singaporean, Philippine, Lao or Malaysian nationality are exempt from Cambodia visa.
  • In the event that guests are not permitted to exit or enter the country for personal reasons, Cambodia Travel will not be responsible and will not bear any arising costs nor refund the tour price (in case guests cannot travel).
  • The order of sightseeing points may change due to objective incidents such as weather, traffic… but still ensure all points listed in the programme are visited.
  • In cases of force majeure such as: terrorism, riots, natural disasters, changes in airline or train schedules…
  • The company will proactively change the itinerary or cancel the tour for the convenience and safety of guests and will not be liable for compensation for arising costs.
  • Personal documents such as Passport, ID, money, valuables…
  • Guests should keep them themselves, or best deposit them at the hotel reception to avoid risky situations.
  • The travel company is not responsible for any case of lost documents or loss of personal property of guests.

THINGS TO KNOW WHEN TRAVELLING TO CAMBODIA

  • Be careful with your luggage, best to put it in the vehicle compartment as soon as you meet the tour leader

  • The tour leader will contact and provide the phone number to guests in the afternoon one day before the departure date.

Preparing before the trip:

  • Guests please bring a passport valid for at least 6 months (original); if you are an overseas Vietnamese or a foreign guest, bring 2 additional photos (4 x 6) to make a Vietnam re-entry visa.
  • Luggage should be compact for 4 days; it is advisable to divide it into 2 types: carry-on luggage for items needed on the bus, and luggage kept in the vehicle compartment should be in a moderate suitcase and avoid taking things in and out, which can easily cause confusion and loss.
  • The company prepares a medical kit, but guests should bring their usual medicines suited to their own constitution, or specific treatment medicines (if guests are under treatment).

  • Cambodian currency: 1 USD exchanges for about 4100 riel, 1000 riel exchanges for 6000 VND; USD is widely used in Cambodia.

Customs:

  • Vietnam Customs regulations prohibit carrying more than 5,000 USD in cash (or 10,000,000 VND) when exiting the country and it must be declared to customs. Tax-free purchases are allowed when the value is 300 USD or less. Do not carry more than 300 grams of jewellery.
  • Guests carrying a Camera should please declare it in the customs declaration form to avoid being taxed when entering Vietnam.
  • If carrying tapes or discs, they must be censored before being taken abroad.

Weather and clothing:

  • Cambodia’s weather is like the South of our country, with 2 seasons, rainy and sunny, but little rain and long hot sunshine; guests should bring appropriate sun-protection clothing and items.
  • Guests should bring sports shoes or sandals with heel straps for convenient walking during visits to places with large grounds such as: the Royal Palace, Angkor…
  • On the afternoon of the 3rd day according to the itinerary visiting the Royal Palace, guests please wear solemn clothing: shirts must not be open-necked, must have sleeves, trousers must be long to the ankles, skirts must be longer than the knees.

Dining – entertainment – shopping:

  • The taste of dishes in Cambodia is similar to the South, so guests can be assured. In case of vegetarian or diet meals, please notify before registering the tour.
  • Dining outside is also like in Vietnam, so guests can enjoy cuisine outside the programme, but should choose airy and hygienic restaurants.
  • When shopping locally, guests can bargain.
  • Going out at night is quite safe, but avoid going alone and going to deserted places; going in a group by Tuk Tuk is very interesting and fun.
  • Guests can visit nightlife entertainment areas such as: casinos (the famous Nagar casino in Phnom Penh), Khao San Road area, music cafes, food streets…
  • The local guide or tour leader will guide guests.

General notes:

  • For the tour to be complete, guests please follow the management of the local guide and tour leader regarding gathering times, sightseeing…
  • When visiting, guests please stay together with the group (the guide holds the tour flag) to hear the commentary and avoid getting lost.
  • In the evening when going out, please leave your Passport and valuables, money at the hotel reception. The company is not responsible for any personal loss in any case.
  • Guests be careful when moving around at sightseeing points; do not stand or climb in unsafe places. Be careful when walking on the road or crossing the street. Families with children please watch and look after the children carefully.
  • Elderly guests or those with high blood pressure should not walk up Bakheng hill; instead, they can ride an elephant up or stroll around other temples in the area.
  • To keep the tourism environment clean and sustainable, guests please do not litter in public places, climb, or write or draw on relics. Always respect and preserve the cultural identity of the place you are visiting.
