Cambodia is easy to reach from Vietnam – only a few hours by road from Ho Chi Minh City – affordable and rich in culture.
Documents
Vietnamese citizens do not need a visa for short stays. Most other nationalities need a Cambodian visa (e-visa or visa on arrival). Everyone needs a passport valid for at least 6 months.
Money
The official currency is the riel (KHR), but US dollars are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants and markets. Bring small notes for everyday spending.
Best time to visit
The dry season from November to March brings cooler weather – ideal for exploring Angkor and the beaches of Sihanoukville and Koh Rong.
